The Opportunity
- Manage all Airfreight operations, including import/export, land-air, transit shipments, and transshipment, with a thorough understanding of customs clearance processes and regulations.
- Collaborate with networks, sales teams, and clients to identify business opportunities, develop new Airfreight products, and support growth through joint sales visits.
- Engage in pricing strategies for tenders and local inquiries, offering new solutions and working closely with local and global tender teams, as well as regional/global Airfreight product teams.
- Provide monthly business reviews, plan Airfreight development strategies, and propose initiatives for cost-saving and profitability improvements, including departmental productivity enhancements.
- Negotiate competitive rates and long-term agreements with carriers and vendors, ensuring effective space allocation and collaboration with transportation vendors.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates of comprehensive rates, schedules, invoicing, AR overdue, accrual accuracy, and billing through internal systems (e.g., CW1), while meeting KPIs and adhering to specific business process requirements.
What You'll Need To Succeed
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, International Business, Logistics, or related disciplines.
- Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in the air freight forwarding industry.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of air freight forwarding operations and industry practices.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
- Personal Qualities: Strong service orientation, ability to work under pressure, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Leadership & Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal management skills, capable of managing large teams, with proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
