We're Hiring Application Support Specialists! Contract Term 6- 12 months
Your Role:
As an Application Support Specialist, you'll be the first line of defense for our applications, ensuring their smooth operation, availability, and performance. You'll also get the chance to enhance our monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using your JavaScript expertise.
Responsibilities:
First-Line Application Support:
Provide prompt and effective technical support to internal and external users.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues efficiently, minimizing downtime.
Document solutions and procedures in a knowledge base for future reference.
Application Availability & Scalability:
Proactively monitor application health and performance metrics.
Ensure application availability through proactive maintenance and incident management.
Support scaling efforts (up/down) to meet user demand.
Application Monitoring, Logging & Alerting (Bonus):
During non-critical times, work on improving the application monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure using JavaScript technologies.
Develop and implement automated scripts to streamline monitoring and alerting processes.
Collaboration:
Work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, product owners, and clients to understand issues and implement solutions effectively.
Participate in team discussions and provide valuable insights from a support perspective.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in application support (minimum 1 year)
Strong understanding of application troubleshooting methodologies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in JavaScript and related technologies (e.g., Node.js, React)
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (a plus)
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Bonus Points:
Experience with DevOps principles and practices
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure, Huawei)
Experience participating in on-call rotations for after-hours and weekend support
