Job Description:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize logistics, transportation, and distribution processes, ensuring maximum safety, cost-effectiveness, and on time delivery for all TIPCO truck and Outsource truck fleet. This role involves coordinating with various departments to oversee supply planning and inventory management, aiming for efficient and cost-effective operations. This position has base at Phrapadaeng plant but able to be travel between the Tipco Asphalt Groups plants which locates in Suratthani, Rayong, Phitsanulok and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for logistics, transportation, and distribution. Ensure alignment of logistics strategies with overall business objectives. Lead and coordinate with related functions to achieve the strategic plan.
- Monitor and control logistics and distribution operations to ensure safety, cost-efficiency, and punctuality. Implement performance metrics and KPIs to measure logistics performance. Identifies areas for improvement and implements corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales and procurement department to streamline supply planning, inventory management and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Develop and implement transport and distribution procedures, in compliance with law and regulations.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions. . Included cost structure analyzing and updated. Provide analysis and insights into logistics operations to support strategic decision-making. Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement based on data analysis. Collaborate on cross-functional projects to streamline processes and improve logistics efficiency.
- Oversee the management of outsourced truck fleets to support transportation needs. Evaluation, selection and Negotiate contracts with outsourced truck fleets companies and ensure compliance with service level agreements. Monitor fleet performance and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Also Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other logistics partners.
- Prepare and manage budgets and expenditures. Monitor the cost and effectiveness of transport and distribution activities to optimize resources and spending.
- Prepare and present regular reports to management on key logistics metrics, including transportation costs, on-time delivery performance, and compliance status etc.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the logistics and plant distribution team to achieve operational goals.
- Develop and Maintain Logistic ERP System and lead the development and maintenance of the logistic ERP system to support logistics operations.
Qualifications/ Education/ Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Logistic and Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, or other related fields.
- Proven experience (at least 10 years) in logistics, transportation, and distribution management from manufacturing firm.
- Experience in managing truck fleets, including both company-owned and outsourced vehicles, specifically for hazardous materials or oil-related products. Preferably, with expertise in port management.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Fluent in English to communicate with foreign supervisors and employees (TOEIC score 700+).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and technology.
- This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex logistics operations while maintaining a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control.
