RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. Receive daily work assignments from Duty Engineer/Supervisor and review priorities and special projects. Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments. Check work orders and night report for any problems; make rounds checking these problem areas and note any information needed or safety concerns in the hotel. Maintain guestrooms using rooms preventive maintenance program punch list. Maintain water pipe, plumbing fixtures tanks. Maintain Fire protection system, Waste water treatment plant, Swimming pool plumbing system, Recycle water system. Change or repair locks as needed. Perform air con, plumbing and preventive maintenance work orders. Perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas. Assist electrician, carpenter, air con and painter in all phases of repair work. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to include: inventories requisition (receipt and storage) trash removal and clean up Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools. Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces. Ensure security of any assigned keys. All other duties as required. Attend Engineering staff meetings regularly. To be on call for any breakdown of engineering facilities on a 24-hour basis. Follow all other instructions / rules and regulations that may be issued by the superior. Technical Skills: Working knowledge of all plumbing supplies and equipment; knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal; working knowledge of health codes, electrical codes, national/local fire codes, local mechanical codes, blue prints and wiring schematics, power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades; ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property, be well organized and follow instructions, focus attention on details, operate high reach lifts, prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines for work assignments, work and perform job functions with minimal supervision, work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Language: Required to can communicates in English. Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 30 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
