Project (Design) Mgr: Manages the development and implementation process of a company's products and services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints. Survey Tip: This role is most common in a matrix type organization; it does not have responsibility over product development, but often requires a technical background in order to complete its overall project management responsibility. This job manages specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end. Individuals with people management responsibility should be matched to Project/Program (Design) Mgmt (2262-2266). Employees who manage internal administration-focused projects should be matched to Project (Admin) Mgr (6631-6635). Employees who manage product implementation for customers/clients should be matched to Project (Client Services) Mgr (5872-5876). Employees who manage internal IT-focused projects should be matched to Project (Information Systems) Mgr (6621-6625).
