Purpose of the position
The General Manager, Operation provides a proactive management approach and will have overall responsibility for operations, including the delivery of safe and reliable service, employee oversight, management of contract assets, risk management, client and customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
Key Tasks
Responsibilities.
- Work closely with Business Development team to provide viable solution for complex logistics proposal.
- Review and make recommendation to management regarding ways to improve implementation methods.
- Design and implement optimal warehouse layouts and processes to increase work efficiency.
- Lead the warehouse staff with integrity, provide training/mentoring to the team under your control, and inspire them to perform at their best to meet company goals.
- Work with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, storage, and shipping in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Develop and manage quality improvement initiatives.
- Implement business strategies set forth by senior management and participate in improving the business by administering and evaluating short / long term objectives offering potential alternatives to existing methods.
- Strict adherence of your team to rigorous safety and security procedures that safeguard inventory and personnel.
- Supervise the QHSSE team to implement HSE standards and guidelines in the Business Unit/Warehouse.
- Responsibility to ensure that corrective actions resulting from accidents / near misses, audits, inspections & risk assessments are implemented.
- Keep precise inventory records and conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy through the WMS.
- Track and provide management reporting on key metrics and KPI's.
- Provide regular feedback/reports to customers as to the warehouse performance and inventory movements.
- Developing the skills and competencies of all warehouse staff members enabling a flexible workforce
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on reducing costs, improving service levels, and enhancing safety and compliance.
- Performance management of all warehouses and supporting staffs under your leadership.
- Ensure the company's Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are adhered to within the warehouse.
- Ensures effective environmental compliance and sustainability management
- Provides complete and accurate data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director.

- Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety, and environment follow all requirements as set out in the QHSE policy.

- Comprehensive understanding of customer requirements in terms of information flow, transportation, warehousing, and inventory management

- Background in contract logistics (3PL) and warehouse operations
- Good knowledge in WMS or ERP
- Good understanding of Lean principles, Sigma, 5S etc.
- Able to workday and/or night shift
Educational Background / Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Logistic & Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering preferably.
- 5+ years Management or Supervisory level experience in either the production/manufacturing/warehousing or logistics field is required.
- Must have experience in Project Management and Logistics Operational Activity.
Language Skills
- High proficiency in English both spoken and written skills required to effectively communicate with international clients and colleagues.
- Able to conduct and participate in management/customer meetings held in English both f2f and online.
