The Global Procurement Director for Packaging Materials is responsible for leading the sourcing, procurement, and management of packaging materials including but not limited to aluminium, PET, glass, and paper-based materials across multiple regions. This is a start-up, entrepreneurial role that focuses on cost optimization, supplier relationships, sustainability, and innovation to support the company's packaging needs. The Director will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Lead global procurement strategy for packaging materials, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings initiatives.
- Supplier Management: Build and manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Promote sustainable packaging solutions, reducing waste and carbon footprint while exploring innovative packaging technologies.
- Collaboration: Work with internal teams (R&D, Marketing, Operations) to align packaging with product and brand requirements.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the procurement budget, monitor market trends, and reduce costs.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulations and manage supply chain risks.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years in procurement, with 5+ years in a leadership role in packaging materials sourcing, preferably in the fast moving consumer goods sectors
- Skills: Strong negotiation, supplier management, sustainability expertise, and strategic thinking. Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis.
- Attributes: Results-driven, analytical, and adaptable with strong leadership and communication skills.
