JOB SUMMARY
Designated as the signing actuary for regulatory reporting, including RBC and the Annual Actuarial Report. This role is a potential pathway to becoming Chief Actuary, where the candidate is expected to lead 10 high performance actuaries and oversee the corporate actuarial functions, ensuring the effective management of risk and the provision of actuarial insights to support strategic decision-making. This role involves directing the preparation of actuarial reports which includes management reporting, business planning, Capital management, portfolio management, Actuarial control cycle process i.e. assumption settings, experience monitoring, and analytics. The candidate also expected to be involved in company's strategic projects and collaborating with other teams (internal and external) to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
Main Responsibility
+ Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Designated as the signing actuary for regulatory reports.
- Direct the preparation of actuarial reports and financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of actuarial results to senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies to address compliance matter
+ Perform capital forecasts and oversee capital management of the company
- Lead the Capital adequacy and optimization process.
- Capital planning and strategy
- Actively involve in the liquidity and cashflow management process
+ Lead analytical function in monitoring and actuarial analysis activities
- Create monitoring reports such as lapse, mortality, loss ratios.
- Improve monitoring process.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to give actuarial recommendation.
+ Lead analytical function in experience study exercise and assumption review
+ Coordinate with Finance and Reporting team in strategic planning and monitor the key KPIs of the company
+ Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the corporate actuarial team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the actuarial department.
+ Other tasks
- Liaise with Regional and Group Head office in various technical initiatives
- Adopt and keep track of the implementation of Group Policies
- Develop business cases/ Perform analysis
PREPARATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE - Describe the minimum level of preparation, training, and experience, as well as any special skills, which are required to competently perform the duties of this job.
- Education : Bachelor or Master degree
- Experience : At least 10 years in Life Actuarial
- Designation: Fully qualified actuary (FSA, FIA, FIAA, FCIA)
- Technical Competency : Good understanding of Capital management/ Valuation / Data and Statistics analysis, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and communication to the non-technical teams is a key.
- Managerial Competency : Good supervisory and project management skills; experience in managing a team is required
- Languages : Good communication in English
- Computer : Prophet/R/Python/SQL experience preferred. MS Office proficiency required.
