We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer with experience in AWS Cloud, Terraform, Python or Javascript to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a track record of creating scalable software solutions, using best practice approaches while working both alone and collaboratively within a team.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing towards the design and development of complex software systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. You will assist with providing technical guidance and participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software applications
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Maintain high standards of coding while applying the best practices where appropriate.
- Ensure the quality and performance of the your work through participating in code reviews and testing
- Translate end user needs to requirements using a lightweight agile design led methodology.
- Supply towards design work and planning for user stories.
- Executes on the delivery of given tasks, delegating to the team where applicable.
- Builds trusting relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team.
- Communicates with clarity and precision in a concise format.
- Working both independently and collaboratively within a team in an agile fashion.
- Analysis, design and implementation of complex software solutions using customer focused design driven methodologies, delivered via public cloud.
- Building domain expertise in Financial market content and LSEG systems.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 4 years+ experience as a Software Developer or equivalent.
- Diploma / Degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science / or equivalent experience.
- Skills and experience developing web applications in Javascript, Typescript, Python or other relevant languages.
- Skills and experience with web servers and databases (e.g. DynamoDB, RDBMS, Elasticsearch).
- Skills and experience with cloud-based services, preferably AWS.
- Experience developing and deploying containerised environments (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines utilising infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible).
- Experience with front-end development frameworks (React, NextJS or Angular, etc.)
- Critical thinking, value judgment and common sense over process.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Positive attitude to learning new skills and technologies.
