Job descriptions:
- Main responsibilities are supporting all legal and corporate related matters as well as assist on both internal and external coordination of all legal issues relating to ASEAN and Direct Markets in AP.
- Provide legal advice/opinion in legal matters relevant to all entities, both sales and manufacturing companies, all departments/functions for Thailand market.
- Support Compliance Officers of regional markets with regard to compliance matters including Data Privacy in ASEAN markets
- Draft, review, provide advice regarding loan agreements and other financial related agreements to support Finance and Treasury.
- Negotiate loan agreement terms with support from outside counsels.
- Support Senior Counsel in validating legal advice for complex legal transactions and scenarios.
- Drafting and negotiating legal and commercial contracts as well as letters and other marketing materials as assigned by Senior Counsels or Managing Counsel for ASEAN and Direct Markets in AP.
- Support Purchasing regional team on purchasing related matters, including legal advice/ comment on Global Terms and Conditions, Purchase Order, as well as any dispute by suppliers in Thailand and ASEAN.
- Support Senior Counsel in preparing and conducting legal training.
- Provide legal advice to human resources teams with regard to labor related matters that include union negotiation with the manufacturing teams.
- Represent company's interests in suppliers and customers litigation related matters and doing all paper works to support litigation and claims for ASEAN, including the ongoing class action lawsuit in Thailand.
- Responsible for license management for Ford and Joint Venture entities in Thailand, which covers providing advice in obtaining required license, permit, initiate permit application or liaison with external counsel regarding application, and ensure compliance, e.g., report to government authorities if required.
- Liaison with global teams on the outside counsel firm timekeeping and billing
- Liaison with Ford local representatives to handle all government related issues in ASEAN markets.
- Liaison with Thai government authorities on Ford Thailand entities behalf.
- Translate internal legal documents from Thai to English and English to Thai.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Law
- At least 7-10 years of experience in related field
- Experience in consumer protection or commercial law would be an advantage
- Having been practicing law in either international law firm or internal company (in legal department)
- Good negotiation, presentation, and law firm management skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Excellent command of English
