The Marketing Communications Manager plans, controls, coordinates and participates in all marketing communications activities with an emphasis on public and media relations.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Director, Marketing Communications and within the limits of established hotel policies and procedures, The position promotes good quality and positive communications in order to promote and enhance the image of the property.
Responsibilities
- Arranges all aspects of management and the coordination of marketing and communication activities to include scheduling, compiling reports and developing presentations. Oversee agency and media relationship management, social media and content creation, event management for both media and guests and partnerships
- Ensure that effective and efficient day-to-day internal and external communications are implemented
- Ensure that business, political and social factors which may affect the property are highlighted and communicated to all concerned individuals
- Maintain a successful analysis of the competitors marketing and other communication activities to develop and maintain a competitive edge
- Manages the development of all marketing and communication projects, including overseeing events and building media relationships
- Assess all media inquiries including magazine, newspaper, TV and photographer and respond in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain strong media relations to maximize media coverage
- Proactively source key media visits and manage all aspects of media visits including logistics, bookings, itineraries, materials and hosting
- Implement a social media strategy by channel, including building the community, increasing awareness and engagement, integrated with paid media, influencers and content
- Propose and implement partnerships to drive bookings, acquisition of guests and support retention across categories (rooms, wellbeing and F&B)
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related fields
- Minimum of 1 year+ as Assistant Manager, Marketing Communications or 4 years experience in Marketing Communications (preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel)
