Mechanical Manager (PM/CM Project)
Working within project management or construction management (PM/CM), the Mechanical Manager will be assigned to the field construction organization in a managerial capacity. You'll be responsible for project financial management, negotiations, scheduling, coordinating, and document control. This person will be able to effectively lead others and foster a positive working environment, supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
Work Location
A specific project has not yet been finalized. Samsung C&T is now searching for a pool of manpower that can be utilized for future projects. So candidates will be contacted after the project starts and the specific location will be then announced.
Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work in the mechanical discipline of a project or staff group. Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements.
- Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment or work specifications, material requisition, technical bid evaluations and award recommendations.
- Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
- Communicates technical issues and recommends solutions to Supervisor and/or project management.
- Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (clients, suppliers, regulators).
- Conducts reviews of vendor drawings, calculations and other documentation.
- Works on conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
- Assists in preparing cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
- Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, specialists and designers.
- Prepares discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget.

Qualifications/Skills
- University/College graduate with BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years experience in the hands-on design and design supervision of mechanical systems design including HVAC, fire protection and plumbing for commercial, industrial, power substation, telecom and government facilities projects.
- The candidate should have a strong working experience in pump station design across multiple utilities including potable water, fire water, sanitary and industrial waste water, sea water and chilled water.
- Experience with performing HVAC cooling load calculations using industry-standard software and program.
Essential Behavioral Skills:
- Previous experience in Management on an PM/CM Project
- Ability to drive engineering progress and performance towards meeting or exceeding targets for a project.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated interest in mentoring and active knowledge transfer to junior engineers.
- Capable of interacting professionally with clients and working collaboratively.
Preferred Technical:
- Professional/Chartered Engineer.
- Thorough knowledge of discipline engineering techniques including the detailed design of engineered systems, design calculations, specifications and drawing requirements.
- Use of a range of standard computer software applications for Mechanical Engineering analysis and significant experience with BIM / Digital Twin design processes.
- Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
- Understanding of international industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting quality reviews of projects, in accordance with engineering procedures and instructions.
- LEED BD+CAP
- Commercial awareness of how engineering decisions affect total installed costs, schedule, operations & maintenance and how design changes within the discipline impact other disciplines and functions.
