We are seeking an
Optics Engineering Intern for our
Golden Valley, MN location.
Key Responsibilities
- Laser setup and optimization
- Optical component testing
- Optical and optomechanical assembly design, setup, and testing
- Monitoring and automation within optical systems
- Collaboration with scientists and engineers
You Must Have
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
- Graduating after December 2024
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. person (defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status)
We Value
- Individuals pursuing Engineering / Optics / Physics graduate programs preferred
- Experience with theoretical and practical aspects of imaging and laser optics, including micro-optics
- Experience with scientific programming languages or optical simulation tools such as Matlab, Python, COMSOL, or similar
- Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- Experience with optical design programs such as Code V, Zemax, Lighttools, FRED, or similar.
- Experience with Mechanical design programs such as Solid Works
- Commitment to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
