Job Description

Job Summary

  • Ensure MPT has manufacturing solutions that deliver suspensions that meet customer requirements for performance, quality and cost.
  • Use your technical and leadership strengths to bring innovation and solutions for the improvement of our production equipment and processes for manufacturing suspensions.
  • Explore new process technology, develop requirements, coordinate and manage overseas equipment suppliers to deliver process modules and equipment per requirement.
  • Coach and mentor team to improve to the next level of success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide equipment design concept with breakthrough ideas in process technology to support suspension manufacturing requirements.
  • Execute process and equipment design.
    • Understand customer product roadmaps and manufacturing requirements.
    • Stage process technology to meet the next three year's requirements.
    • Lead team to manage equipment suppliers to meet technical and schedule requirements.
  • Provide management and leadership in Process Development.
    • Develop positive relationships with suppliers.
    • Manage process and equipment technology, development, and qualification testing.
    • Be directly involved in critical projects and issues.
  • Ensure the qualification of new processes and equipment for prototypes and mass production.
  • Lead problem solving and analysis.
    • Deliver resolution on all related process technical issues for product failures and yield impacts.
  • Grow the team's capability in technology, delivery and organizational efficiency
    • Lead process and equipment development to address next generation requirements and identify opportunities to deliver competitive advantage.
    • Cultivate best practice in mechanical and electrical analysis, FMEA, DFM, DOE, FA and process control.
Qualifications

  • Education Required :
    • BSc, MSc or Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automation Engineering.
    • Japanese language (minimum of certified N2 level).
  • Skill Required :
    • Track record of creative thinking, problem solving, and root cause analysis.
    • Hands on experience with 3D/2D machine and automation design. (Solid works/AutoCAD)
    • Extensive knowledge and technical skills in suspension process, production, and automation systems.
    • Demonstrated experience delivering solutions on schedule.
    • Proven leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent listening, reading, writing in English and Japanese languages.
    • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work across cultures.
    • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.
  • Experience :
    • Minimum 10 years experience in process development and automation design.
    • 5-10 years in technical management and coordination (in Japanese) with Japanese companies.
    • 5-10 years on HDD or electronic manufacturing is preferable.
