Your day at NTT DATA

The Technical Services Implementation Engineer (L1) is an entry level engineering role, required to work closely with the Technical Services Implementation Engineering team to action configurations, installations and attend to break/fix events that are deemed less complex in nature.

Designing, implementing, and migrating security solutions following the security framework for our enterprise customers. Perform assessments, develop secure solutions, and educate customers on security best practices.

What You'll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate technical mastery in configuration management, security devices, security appliances, virtual appliances, and applications. Alternatively, possess highly specialized skills such as integrating customer environments with 3rd party products using APIs or IT security tools.
  • Provide remote and on-site services and support to customers during testing, evaluation/pilot, and production phases to ensure successful deployments.
  • Collect infrastructure technical requirements from customers and create implementation and production deployment procedures tailored to client environments.
  • Execute tasks according to customer/project requirements and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Develop custom scripts, utilities, and integrations to meet customer needs as identified.
  • Document project status for internal teams and clients, including project scheduling, tracking, and status/completion reporting.
  • Work independently with limited oversight while on assignment, ensuring projects are completed successfully.

Knowledge and Attributes:

  • Basic understanding and appreciation of technical design principles.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of fundamental project management and administration processes.

  • Hands-on proactive in approach.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science / Information Technology Degree or equivalent together with specialized training in new technologies and legacy systems or equivalent.
  • Experience with multiple operating systems (Windows and Linux-based), security policies, and terminology.
  • 5+ years of field consulting experience for technical products and services. - Knowledge of the software development cycle.
  • A professional, positive demeanor and a service-oriented nature.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues to resolve customer problems, obtaining additional support for complex situations.
  • Fundamental systems security knowledge.
  • Highly motivated with strong communication, presentation, project management, and writing skills.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Comfort in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Superb troubleshooting skills and persistence in problem-solving.
  • System administrator experience.
  • Travel required up to 40%.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., Workday, e-Application, Service Desk).
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, NGFW, Web Proxy, Email Gateway, MFA, DLP, NGAV, XDR, and EDR.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and regular expressions.
  • Certification in IT/Network security or relevant vendor certifications.
  • Project management knowledge is a plus.
  • Some work experience in a technical implementation engineering or similar role.
