The Senior Human Resources Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the strategic objectives of the Human Resources department. Reporting directly to the Head of Human Resources, this position is responsible for overseeing various HR functions, implementing policies and procedures, and providing guidance to HR specialists. The Senior HR Specialist contributes to fostering a positive and productive work environment by ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations and implementing best practices in HR management.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Collaborate with management to develop, revise, and implement HR policies and procedures that align with organizational objectives and legal requirements.
- Ensure consistent application and enforcement of policies across the organization.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees in Unita Group regarding HR-related issues, including grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and concerns, providing resolution and recommendations as necessary.
Onboarding & Offboarding:
- Coordinate new employee onboarding activities, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Ensure that the offboarding procedure is successfully managed, including exit interviews, silent period, and asset return checklists.
Performance Management:
- Support performance appraisal processes by providing guidance to managers and employees, monitoring performance evaluations, and facilitating performance improvement plans as needed.
HR Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with business leaders and managers to understand organizational goals and objectives and provide HR support in aligning HR strategies with business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to business units, offering insights and recommendations on workforce planning, organizational structure, and talent development initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits Administration:
- Assist in the administration of compensation and benefits programs, including salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and benefits enrollment.
- Address employee inquiries regarding compensation, benefits, and payroll matters.
HR Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in HR practices and policies.
- Prepare and submit HR-related reports and documentation as required by regulatory agencies or senior management.
HR Projects and Initiatives:
- Lead or participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and culture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and improvements in HR processes and systems.
Other:
- Support any HR initiatives, or internal/external audit requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or HR certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources roles, with a focus on employee relations, HR business partner, and HR compliance.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with demonstrated experience in applying them in the workplace.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive HR decisions and initiatives.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
